Dilwara Temple
Your visit is not complete until you have seen the famous Dilwara Temple. Carved with white marble, this temple is an excellent piece of architecture. It is located in the Mongo Grove, which makes it an exotic place. Basically, it’s a Jain pilgrimage centre but other tourists also visit here. It was built in between 11th to 13th Century AD in the honour of Jain Tirthankaras. There are around 52 small shrines in the temple.

is dedicated to Hindu Lord Shiva. You will find a pit inside the temple, and it
is believed that it was created by the foot of Lord Shiva.

This temple is another piece of great
architecture. It is believed that the Devi lends her name to the place. This
temple is located on the top of the hill, and one has to walk 200 steps to
reach the temple.
This temple is named as Gaumukh, which means
Cow’s mouth because there is a natural spring flowing from the head of a cow.
It is believed that once the great Sage Vashishtha did a yagna here.

This lake in Mount Abu
is very famous as it is believed that saints have dug the lake by their own
nails. It is positioned in such a way that the town of Mount Abu forms an amphitheatre around the
lake.
Apart from the temples and lake, you can visit
the Museum and Art Gallery in Mount
Abu . It has the rare collection of Archaeological excavations from 8th to 12th
Century AD. You can also visit the famous Sunset Point, Honeymoon Point and
Shanti Shikhar here. Glowing Sunset with gigantic hills has its own view, which
is worth watching. You can go for boating in Nakki Lake .

These places are surrounded with prolific summer houses and summer palace of Former Maharaja of Jaipur. There is a
summer festival organised in the town in June every year, which also lure many
tourists. The atmosphere at that time is completely different because of music,
songs and dances performed by local people. The outstanding folk performances
by the Bhil Tribes of the area are the centre of attraction. Visiting Mount Abu
at that time of the year is altogether a different experience.
